TOMORROW is the day of Ruby's homecoming! Gahhh I can't WAIT! But am I really prepared?! Hmmmm... Lemme think...
Kitten food... CHECK
Kitty Carrier prepared... CHECK
Kitty room prepared... CHECK
(^^Although it could use a bit more cleaning out, but it's partially our office and Gene's tool room, so that's gonna take a lil bit! Haha.. but it's cleaned out enough for Lil Miss Priss! ;) )
New bed for da BB... CHECK
Telling Winston he's getting a new sister (yet he's still clueless!)... CHECK
New toy for da BB (that Winston can play with too, of course!)... CHECK
Bought a gate/some kind of solution for the bedroom... NEGATORY....
(^^I think I'm going to play this one by ear... And especially since I'm getting her on a Friday and have all weekend to get her used to the house and get Winston introduced... I may still get the gate and/or just have things prepared outside of the room, but we'll see! :-P )
Anything I'm forgetting?! I'm sure there is... That's just the nature of the beast! LOL... I mean I have probably NEARLY everything ready already since I have Winston, but I'm sure there are other minute details I'm forgetting! Still have to have a talk with Wesleigh about how to treat the new kitty... I'm not scared she's gonna like strangle it or anything, I just don't want her chasing it if/when it runs away from her. Time to talk! :-P

ReplyDeleteYea the other thing I want to get through to Wes is that it's MY kitty... She can't sit there and be obsessed with it.. Cause she won't even be here most of the time! I want it to attach to ME! I know that sounds way selfish, but seriously dude! It's MAH kitteh!! ;-P I'm almost considering, even, not letting her hold Ruby! Haha yea that probably won't play out too well, but maybe she'll listen... We see! ;)
Maybe have it so she can't hold her until Ruby is a certain age. Maybe if you make a little count down thing for her (like kids do for Christmas) to when she's allowed to hold her she'll be better about it. Of course her still being allowed to pet her, but not pick her up or anything. That way you have time to bond with her first.
ReplyDeleteThat might be a good idea, but she's only staying with us for a couple of weeks and MAYBE the rest of the summer (that's all up to her), so that doesn't give much time, so maybe I can tell her the next time she comes and stays with us she can... Ohhh I dunno! Maybe I'll tell her to ask permission before she holds her or something... Having kids is FUNNNN! LOL...
